Why this matters
The cost of getting the answer wrong
Every year, industrial accidents take lives that better analysis could have saved. A gas release that travels further than anyone expected. A fire that radiates beyond the boundary that was drawn on a drawing. An explosion amplified by the very structures that surround it.
Regulators across the world require operators to study these events before they happen. Europe has its major accident hazard directives. The United States has its process safety management and risk management rules. India, the Gulf and South East Asia each have their own frameworks, and all of them are tightening as industry grows and as new fuels enter the energy system.
The obligation is universal. The tools available to meet it are not. Advanced consequence modelling has stayed expensive, slow and locked inside a small number of desktop products, so a great many facilities do the minimum the law allows rather than the analysis the risk deserves.
We think that gap between what is required and what is possible is where lives are lost.

An Indian company with an international purpose
AgniKawach is headquartered in New Delhi, with offices in Chennai and Pune. We are building here because India has one of the fastest growing hazardous industrial bases in the world, a tightening regulatory environment, and, until now, no consequence modelling platform of its own.
But the physics of a jet fire is the same in Jamnagar, Jubail, Rotterdam and Houston. What we are building is designed from the start to serve operators and regulators wherever the hazard is, and to meet the reporting requirements of each of them.

Who is building it
Experience from inside the industry
Our leadership has spent careers inside the fire, explosion and hydrogen safety community: developing safety modelling software, designing and running large scale fire test campaigns, and validating simulation against experiment.
Around them sits a board and an advisory bench that includes a former Chairman of the State Bank of India, a former Chairman and Managing Director of GAIL India, a former Chairman and Managing Director of ONGC who later chaired India’s petroleum and natural gas regulator, a former Distinguished Scientist and Director General at DRDO, and senior academic leadership from India’s leading technical institutions.
